This is surprisingly hard to do, as anyone quickly finds out with their first song or first book. Remember that emotion is a heart-felt element, not a cognitive decision. You’ve got to get to the heart when working on your projects. I like to say that, for most people, somewhere between their heart and their hands their heads got in the way!
We need certain freedoms in our development process to allow for more of our hearts to come through. It’s vulnerable, which is why it’s valuable.
